Archives Collection 4 : Faculty of Music

Biography
The first degrees in music offered by the University of Toronto date back to 1904, (after the amalgamation of three Toronto based music schools: the Conservatory of Music, the College of Music, and the Hamillton college of Music). However, the estabilshment as a Faculty at the University of Toronto happened on March 7th, 1918. The Faculty of Music now offers degree programs in Jazz, composition, opera, music history and culture, performance, and theory; from the undergraduate level through to doctoral programs.
