Biography
Hugh Le Caine, physicist and instrument builder, was born Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), 27 May 1914, and died in Ottawa 3 July 1977. He worked with the National Research Council in Ottawa from 1940 to 1974, concentrating on musical activities after 1954. He created over twenty electronic instruments, and produced at least fifteen electroacoustic compositions. See the Canadian Encyclopedia for a full biography.
